Munch Bunch - great for growing kids

Calling all budding storytellers!

Do you love that time of the day, when you sit down to read your child their favourite storybook? Well, have you ever thought about writing a children’s story of your own? One you know your child will adore. Now is the time to get creative - move over J K Rowling!! Munch Bunch is searching for creative mums and dads everywhere to enter the 2010 Munch Time storytelling competition.

So, if you’ve always fancied the idea of putting pen to paper, here’s the perfect opportunity. We’re asking you to

  • Write an original children’s story, of your own creation, between 600-800 words, which begins with the opening line:

“Once upon a Munch Time, there was a cow called Munch…”
  • Submit your story and contact details using the form below

There are no limits to what your story can be about, so let your imagination run away with you and no doubt a wonderful tale will result!

Please note the deadline for all Munch Time storytelling competition entries is 25th June 2010. The winners will be notified within 3-weeks of the closing date.

Storytelling tips

  • Keep a box of objects handy and use them as props to help you create a story
  • Think of something fun you did during the day and introduce some characters to embellish the story
  • Think of a funny story that happened when you were young. You’ll be surprised how this can amuse your little ones
  • Using different voices can make children laugh and also helps them differentiate between the characters in your story
